VIPP

When i got married (8 years ago) i got the 18 liter Vipp bin as a weeding gift from a friend. I love the design but the bin was always to small for my trash bags......now i found out that they make a 30 liter bin and yesterday i finally got it.......i am in love with it and i have to say, that when you have kids you cant live without it. It is perfectly big enough for a family of 4 and the lit is a must with baby diapers in the house. When i bought it in the new big Vipp shop i was assisted by the owner of the company/daughter of the vipp-bin-inventor and i got this great story.....love things with a story.

The Vipp pedal bin has been on somewhat of an adventure since 1939. From Holger Nielsen’s (her father) metal factory in the Danish town Randers to the world-famous design stores and museums – today, the Vipp pedal bin is an international design icon.

The year is 1939 - Holger Nielsen and Marie Axelsen have just married. A trained hairdresser, Marie decides to open her own salon. Money is tight so Marie asks her husband to help furnish the salon with, among other things, a practical rubbish bin. After spending many days labouring in his workshop, Holger is ready to show Marie his Vipp pedal bin – and she is delighted with the result.
Originally, the Vipp bin was intended for Marie only. However, many wives of doctors and dentists have their hair done at Marie’s salon and find the Vipp bin perfect for their husbands’ clinics, particularly in light of its practical and sturdy design. The pedal bin soon becomes a permanent feature in the Danish clinics.
“Good design never goes out of fashion”, Holger used to say. Time has proven him right; the Vipp bin has only been marginally improved since it saw the light of day back in 1939. Today the bin is internationally recognised as a design classic, and in November 2009 it was accepted into the architecture and design collection of The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.

End of April my girlfriend was celebrating her 29th birthday, so me and my boyfriend took the advantage of my parents and had our first real date night since Norman... Had dinner at Oyster & Grill. Really nice food and pretty cool place.. Uh and I also got to wear my favorites from Zara. - it's not often I walk with heels any longer so I catch every possibility :)

CACTUSSES

My boyfriend has always been obsessed with cactusses while I thought they were ugly (he only had the small ones..) But after seeing these pictures I can´t get my mind off of them... so now we are looking everywhere for some nice tall ones. Obviously not at child level but on top of our storage system :) - But unfortunately fairly difficult this season apparently?? I sooo much wanted this when i was pregnant with Alfa, but i never got it and now i totally forget until a friend of my talked about it today.....now it is to late for Bjørn ;-(.

SUMMER IN SKAGEN

I love Skagen (the very top tip off Denmark). It is a summer paradis i have visited forever. And their is lots to do for the kids.

Stay:
At the teddy museum: skagensbamsemuseum
New skagen center: Plesner, Sømandshjemmet
Old skagen: Ruths

Do:
The big ice cream with guf. (pink, suckermass)
Strole the harbour, along the fine red houses, they have the best fish dishes.
Party all night at the old Skagen (Hyttefadet), or just have a lunch.
Take a tractor out to the tip of danmakr and stand with one foot in each ocean. Alternatively, walk there and see all the old bunkers from world war 2.
Go to Farm fun, big farm, made into a playground for children. ride horses, tractors, pet animals ect. soooo cool. farm fun 
Eat a delicious lunch and a big beer at Greens cafe in new skagen.
Do a little wine tasting at the cute wineshop.....dont miss the summerbird chocolate. 
Go to the Teddy museum. Sooo cute. 
The buried church. a church from 1300-spoken. Where only the tower peeping up above the sand.

BUGABOO & MINI RODINI

Received this cool news from Bugaboo last week... HOW COOL IS THIS!! we LOVE Mini Rodini & Bugaboo. And I quite sure that your little boy or girl will love the small colorful pandas as well :) But unfortunately it´s a limited edition of only 20 - and only availible in Sweden from May 1st. The cars will be sold at NK Play & Baby and Mini Rodinis store Nytorgsgatan in Stockholm - A pretty good excuse for a minor trip to Stockholm :)

I have been all over the place looking for a great paint solution. I just cant get myself to paint our house with something i know is sooo bad for you. So i was more than happy when i found the company they make :Natural paints, wood protection, care and cleaning products, All goods produced CO2 neutral and consistent organic plants, minerals and water. Dried residues and treated wood can be composted.

Our apartment is for sale and it is impossible to sell anything these days. So Alfa & Bjørn will have to share their room. Alfa will love it she adores him. Until now the only place the little feller has had is a changing table in her room.....We call it Bjørns BASE ;-)
